Dear Valued Guests,
Thank you for being here: for showing up as changemakers,
community builders and champions of hope.
Nine years ago, Shelter Movers started with a rented van and
a handful of passionate volunteers. Today, we’ve grown into a
national movement — serving families from coast to coast, and
supporting an average of 160 clients every month.
What we’re moving isn’t just “stuff”... we’re moving futures. With
every box packed, every door held open, and every kilometre
driven, we are helping survivors reclaim their safety, their stability,
and their sense of hope.
In times of uncertainty, gender-based violence increases — but
so can our collective action.
Together, we’re not just responding to crises — we’re reimagining
what’s possible. We’re breaking cycles, and creating real, lasting
change. When we unite as a community, our impact multiplies
and so do the futures survivors can envision for themselves.
Today is both a celebration and a call to action. A reflection on
how far we’ve come — and a rallying cry for the road ahead.
Because when we stand with survivors, we don’t just change lives
— we change the world.
Thank you for being an essential part of the journey.
With deep gratitude,
Ainsley Dowle, CFRE
CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER,
SHELTER MOVERS
